14th Lane Terrace Project

With this project we took a mundane space and brought to it a vibrant energy with an almost Mediterranean feel. The terrace provides a versatile yet private area that one can use for meditation, a reading nook, to unwind, or to entertain.

The character of the space comes through in pops of colour juxtaposed against neutral tones and earthy elements such as cane, clay, wooden jaali (trellis), various plants that are placed ever so strategically and hand-picked textiles that adorn the outdoor patio, all of which play an integral role in weaving together an area that emanates warmth. We gave the client enough empty space to bring out additional furniture or move things around for larger gatherings whilst also creating a personalized area with a tailor-made cane swing and sofa set sprinkled with select cushions, a simple coffee table and the carpet that brings a cheery vibe to the quirky space, tying it in with the orange ceiling. Hanging over it all is a lovely cane light that stands out as a feature alongside the bright surroundings.

It’s hard to miss the diverse foliage, from cacti to palms that call this terrace home. We carefully chose spaces for each one and created a step-podium for some to be showcased in an orderly fashion.
