GulMohar House

For this project, we worked on a single storey house, where we celebrated the old 70s retro feel of the house. We maintained the skeleton the bone, but just added the internal partitions. For the formal space, we opted for neutral tones of beige and fawn, complemented by a tanned leather sofa chair. Our client was in possession of a wonderful art collection, and that is what we worked with to infuse color and vibrancy into the space. The star of the show was a bright blue rug that we installed, and we lifted the space in accordance to these colors. The space complemented the artwork and made it the real conversation starter. We developed a color palette and had some fun furniture pieces specifically designed for this space- whether it was a round gold mirror, the console underneath it with the texture, or the retro table with pops of color. The client wished for a very old school retro vibe, that also celebrated the architecture. To tie it all up, we installed a light with metallic gold accents that perfectly complemented the classic, yet unique vibe of the space.

For the son’s bedroom, we opted for primary colors in lieu of the child’s favourite color being red. With a multitude of bookshelves, in a tetris pattern, with different colors, we complemented the rest of the room, where we installed a blue rug, similar curtains, and a wide desk table since the child was an avid reader. A simple look for a child’s bedroom, yet one that did not turn boring.
