For this project, we received a drab canvas of the Haque Academy admin building for the junior section, which we transitioned into a fun, warm, welcoming space. For the main hall, we opted for a design process that encompassed vibrancy. This we manifested in the ombre walls with bright shades of red, orange and yellow- our statement in this design process. The vivid walls worked to brighten up the space, instantly drawing attention and giving off energetic vibes, and we livened up the area with an array of plants. However, keeping in mind the institutional nature of the building, we opted for more neutral, muted spaces in the internal rooms, which were mostly dressed up in splashes of green on the walls, and kept neutral with shades of wood and white. The main idea behind the vivacious halls was to attract younger children and make them feel at ease in an otherwise daunting space, whereas the neutral offices served the role of more official spaces, without taking away the liveliness. Lastly, the conference room was kept more sophisticated than the other rooms, since it was used for meetings with other people of importance in an official capacity. One consistent key element in our work was the use of wood for the furniture- we made sure to keep it all the same to add an aspect of coherence to our design process, and to make sure that the contrast between the lively and more neutral spaces came together seamlessly.
