Mia and Mila is a young girls luxury clothing brand, conceptualizing the traditional and heritage element in to modern clothing. The brand identity is rooted into the lifestyle of, The Nawab of Mumdot, making it the pinnacle of our design process. Expanding on it a large part of our design inspiration for the project was dominated by ancient havelis and the residentials of colonial era. The design aesthetic of the space is crafted through elements such as, complex arches, pastel color, wall motif and use of stones.
Apart from maintaining the brand identity the other concern for the team was the user sensitivity, since the user scales on multiple age group; since it’s accommodating young girls but is aiming to branch out into adult women clothing . It was important to design a space that cater to the wide spectrum of user.
The main feature wall creates a rhythmic pattern of arches and niches with intricate detailed of travertine stone and rose gold finishes. The complex feature wall is set against the muted sitting area giving it the justified heirarchy. The rose gold detailing followed throughout the space maintains the royal essence while the peachy-pink surfaces translate the mild feminine atmosphere. The motif that seamlessly incorporates the brand logo was used strategically to tie the space into a cohesive composition. The mirror become a very significant part since it’s not just a design feature but has functional dimension attached to it, thus the form of the mirror follows the function.
The office desk space evokes a sense of nostalgia and brings an intimate quality to the space. It uses an old desk that belonged to the client against a gallery wall comprising of her grandmother and grand father’s old photos and other personalized graphics.
Thus, the projects aims to translate the soft feminine aura responding to the brand identity of the boutique. The essence of royalty is encapsulated in the space through incorporation of traditional and old school elements.
