Pink Tree Company

The design brief for this well-known boutique asked for traditional with a hint of contemporary. Their clothes and beautiful collection of art makes quite the statement; we chose to use that as a starting point for the direction in which the aesthetics went. There’s a lot of focus on the colour pink which was used to highlight various architectural elements contrasting distinctly with the black and white chequered floor. Pops of colour adorn the couture area which houses the formal line. Jewel toned stools and a royal blue velvet table stands out against the floor whereas the casual line was displayed in a simpler space, where clients enter, where the clothes take centre stage.

Floored with elegant terrazzo the outdoor space is bathed in earthy tones.  A striking pink bougainvillea and bright pink shutters juxtaposed against a more basic and traditional backdrop add to the eastern ambience with a twist.
The open office was a bit of a switch from the contemporary aesthetics used elsewhere. Quirkier details with semi circular partitions, contrasting pink with green stained accents, and functional fluidity for ease of movement make this space a breath of fresh air. Tucked away in the corner the open kitchen has a raw feel and just a few basic utensils to accent the space. The green carries forward to the designer’s workspace where a beautiful desk designates a space within the open office where the creativity flows.
