This project is reminiscent of our iconic, signature style at Mundist in the uniqueness and vibrancy that it channels. We received a distinct, light filled basement in a house designed by Coalesce design studios, where we collaborated and intervened in the design process. Keeping the client’s vision and the architectural features of the basement in mind, our design process was characterized by vibrancy, contrast, and the right balance between print and plain. The entire design scheme revolved around a particularly vivid carpet from Abbas Carpets, that encapsulated the controlled yet evident pops of color against a pure white background. To avoid a messy spill of color, we opted for muted tones in the seating, characterized by cream and dark lime, set off by an array of beautiful bright cushions. A classic mirror and marble tabletops encapsulated geometric shapes to enhance form and structure, while warm lighting and a carefully curated art collection enunciated contained contemporary elegance, personifying the client’s identity and our signature strokes of creativity. To complete the vision, we strategically placed plants that tied the space together and allowed for a new, fresh twist on basement spaces altogether. All furniture was customized by Mundist.
