Sarwar Home

For this project we took a drab, dreary, over the top space and whisked it into a vibrant, completely refreshed look with a clean cut approach. Following the theme of retro pop, we installed a muted yet bright blue rug in the middle of the room, orbited by sofas in the colours of yellow, grey, and lots of patterns. With a vivid art piece hanging in the background, the colours provided a sharp yet welcome contrast to the otherwise beige and bland background. The wooden scheme on the wall went well with the coffee marble table, as well as the natural light in the lounge space. We celebrate the arch by dematerializing it and making it lighter, which gave back to the whole space. With a good interplay of materials and texture, the lounge space seemed to come to life.

For the dressing room, we took a white, washed out tiny space and transformed it into a dressing room of dreams. Before our intervention, the space had included a lot of wood, and chaos. We removed the wood, and installed clear white cabinet fronts, with a sweet settee and lots of shelves. The cabinet fronts had long details which gave them more verticality. With a round edge black metal frame, and a beautiful Abbas carpet installation, the room had subtle pops of color, and yet maintained its sophisticated look.
