The DXB project embarks on the international journey of Mundist design studio, a residential apartment located in Dubai. The standardized apartment lounging space was activated through our statement retro-eclectic aesthetic.
The space proudly exhibits clients’ collections of Pakistani art and craft, celebrating each piece with its own distinctive identity. The conscious use of minimalistic furniture with muted hues was an attempt to provide the needed hierarchy to artistic pieces.
The boldness of the magenta carpet maintains a balanced composition with the deep blue runner placed along the entrance. The runner creates a dualistic connection with the lounging carpet and with the Warisha Khan painting placed beside the entrance. The placement of the dining table was intended to maintain a fluid movement across the space.
This project arrived at us with a new set of challenges and milestones to achieve, a generic Dubai apartment that has to be converted into a fun and eclectic space. However, the most challenging part of the project was to strategize the furniture as a backdrop that is used to elevate the presence of local art and craft
